A little more about our rural enterprise
Hollinlee (meaning “holly tree within a clearing” in Scots) is a working smallholding and the home of the Tuckwood family.
Since moving to Ettrickbridge in 2007 we have established a successful rural business and successfully brought into being a truly unique sustainable tourism project.
At the heart of our enterprise is The Green House; a self-catering holiday lodge that pushes the boundaries of sustainable tourism, whilst not comprising on style, luxury or comfort. We were delighted to be rated 4 Stars by Visit Scotland and to have retained our Green Tourism Gold Award in 2016.
On the smallholding we raise a small flock of Shetland sheep from which we produce high quality lamb and natural undyed knitting yarn. More recently we have had beautiful scarves and throws produced from the fleece. All products are available to purchase from the Shop. The Oxford Sandy & Black pigs and Barnevelder hens add to our rare breed livestock collection.
For over ten years we have kept bees in the local area. Currently we have 4 hives of native Black Bees, originating from Colonsay. When available we have delicious honey for sale.
We provide a professional, yet friendly and flexible service, ensuring that our guests enjoy a fantastic holiday in a setting that you’ll long to come back to time and again. Nothing is too much trouble.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Green House and a holiday you’ll always remember.
